With bright red eye pencil, a buzz cut and a translucent costume by Maison the Faux, Dramm seemed a punk cherub straight from violin heaven. Serene baroque violinistics with a synth bass from an organ pedal. Flawless vocals on plucked strings. Gripping spoken word. In an open mirror decor by Ascon de Nijs Dramm showed us why she is one the most exciting performers of this moment.” (NRC)

”Hearing the violinist Diamanda La Berge Dramm was a revelation. Petite and barefoot, she cuts a potent presence.” (Classical Source)

Dutch Classical Talent Tour // jan-feb 2018

music : David Dramm – Smackgirl / Garth Knox – Up Above Our Heads / Henry Purcell – Dido’s Lament / Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber – Mystery Sonata Nr. 1 / Onur Türkmen – Songs from a Circle

“The jury chose a phenomenon, an original artist, a promise for the future.” (jury DCT)

“in fifteen minutes Dramm not only created the illusion that her violin is a living organism, but also bare footedly played bass drums and pedal organ, and then sang the macabre poem ‘Crossing the Water’ by Sylvia Plath – the final line of which (“This is the silence of astounded souls”) accurately reflecting the audience’s sentiments. That astonished silence gave way to Purcell’s famous Dido, in which her violin seemed to become human.” (NRC)
